CEFTrain is an online-based instrument which promotes the common European principles and standards in teacher education, as expressed in the Council of Europe’s document, the CEF. Besides an easy-to-understand introduction to the CEF, teachers are encouraged to train in the use of CEF scales for rating language samples of listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Weblink The WebCEF Project is supported by the European Commission and runs till September 2009. This project is aimed at the development of a didactic model and the collection and joint analysis of oral proficiency samples supported by new and easily accessible technologies, thus giving teachers and pupils the appropriate evaluation tools. These tools help to provide and share annotated video and audio materials on the internet for both teachers and pupils.

This instrument allows teaching staff to evaluate jointly the oral skills and language proficiency of their pupils through a web-based environment in line with the CEF.

Weblink Dialang has been developed with the support of the European Commission. Dialang is a system of diagnostic language tests in 14 European languages. Separate tests for reading, writing, listening, grammatical structures, and vocabulary are offered. Dialang asks users to assess their own level of proficiency before offering them tests in the area selected and gives users feedback on their performance and tells them how they can improve their proficiency.

Dialang is the first major language assessment system to be based on the Council of Europe’s “Common European Framework of reference”, and serves as an orientation for language learners in evaluating their individual levels.
